Wedding Day

Hi everyone! Sorry its been awhile since my last post. I started back to work and while some people think teachers have it made getting out of work in the afternoon and off (I mean kind of unemployed) in the summer, its really a lot of work! Had open house tonight, which went well and I met about 50 of the 100 students I will see this semester ... I have one day left before my room is filled with teenagers.

Anyway ... this past weekend I helped a college friend celebrate her wedding and this was the card I made for her and her man.Its really simple and I used the corner of a pretty paper to get that bouquet on the card without doing any coloring! I added a bow, a sentiment, and some pearls and kept it simple and sweet otherwise. Hope they liked it. :-) I also made all of their invitations and their programs and hopefully I will get around to sharing those soon.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

SPCC #6

Howdy! Samantha over at Scrapmaster's Paradise has a weekly color challenge. I played last week and I really enjoyed the color combo she challenged us with this week - she asked us to use SU! Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Rich Razzleberry. So, I dug out some scraps and went to work. I started by stamping this fun Unity image onto white card stock with Chocolate Chip ink. I colored in the cone with a Copic marker and added some "Razzleberry Sprinkles" with a purplelish Copic marker as well. I stamped some text onto the Baja Breeze square and created some simple borders with strips of Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. (I did use a 3/4" circle punch to make my scallops - I wanted bigger scallops than what my border punch offered.) Once I got everything on the card, I added the sentiment and accented the word "treat" as well as the sprinkles, cherry and edges of the sentiment strip using a Sakura Clear Star glitter pen. I really like how cute and fun this turned out.
Thanks for stopping by!

Clean & Simple Wedding Card

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend thus far! I am headed to a wedding later today - one of my friends from college is tying the knot and I am so excited for her and her husband-to-be. They have a black and white and red theme going on in their invitations and I believe their kitchen, so I thought I would stick with that theme for this card. (We also went to NC State, so its a GREAT color scheme! :-) I used the Clean & Simple Fall To Layout again from yesterday's post. This layout is so easy peasy and I really like it. I will probably "fall to" it a few more times! I made another "paper quilt" as a gift to go along with this card - I will post that tomorrow.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #47

Made it through another Monday! :-) It wasn't too bad - the weather was really nice today and the tulips are getting ready to bloom! I can't wait!

I finally had enough time to get to Kristina's Color Inspiration challenge - down to the wire here to submit it for the round up! This card is full of supplies from different companies, but I like the end result. I added to polka dots at the last second and I think it helps to make the white card base not quite so stark. I like it. Hope you do too!My blog anniversary is on Tuesday! Be on the lookout for some blog candy! :-)
