Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

Happy Holiday Monday! I hope you all have been enjoying the holiday weekend and have also had time to reflect on the reason behind why we get a day off from work! :-)

Time for another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge from Dawn. First of all, her inspiration photo is so fab - I love, love, love peonies and those McCoy vases are just too cool. I thought, this will be easy - pink and green! Ok, well, its taken me about an hour and some change to put this little card together! :-) Here's my card ...
I really enjoy making my own patterned paper and this one was made using Polka Dot Basics. A definite must-have set in my opinion. :-) I will be back later with a card for the PTI Blog Hop.

Supplies Used (all PTI unless noted):
Card stock: Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, SU! Great Friend
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz
Ribbon: Raspberry Fizz luxe satin
Other: Paper trimmer, scissors, corner rounder punch, Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape

Marriage Paper Quilt

Yesterday, I posted a black, white and red wedding card. Today, I am showing the framed art piece that I made for the happy couple. It went together pretty quickly, despite the little squares - the 3/4" square punch made it easy to get them all uniform! :-) (Anyone who really quilts can appreciate that statement!)

I started by stamping one of the images from Background Basics: Text Style in black onto white card stock. The dotted paper is from PTI's 2008 Bitty Dot Basics paper pack. I meant for the frame to sit horizontal, but I accidentally placed my squares with the text facing the wrong way, so I flipped it. Anyway, I added some stitching with my sewing machine, some ribbon and a sentiment and viola! I hope they will enjoy this little "quilt."

Supplies Used (all PTI unless noted):
Paper: Stampers Select White & Pure Poppy card sock, Bitty Dots DP in Pure Poppy & True Black
Stamps: Quilters Sampler, Background Basics: Text Style
Ink: Palette Noir Black
Ribbon: Pure Poppy luxe satin
Other: EK Success 3/4" square punch, Scor-Tape, 5x7 frame from Wal-Mart

Clean & Simple Wedding Card

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend thus far! I am headed to a wedding later today - one of my friends from college is tying the knot and I am so excited for her and her husband-to-be. They have a black and white and red theme going on in their invitations and I believe their kitchen, so I thought I would stick with that theme for this card. (We also went to NC State, so its a GREAT color scheme! :-) I used the Clean & Simple Fall To Layout again from yesterday's post. This layout is so easy peasy and I really like it. I will probably "fall to" it a few more times! I made another "paper quilt" as a gift to go along with this card - I will post that tomorrow.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Supplies Used (all PTI unless noted):
Card stock: Stampers Select White, True Black
Stamps: Heart Prints, Everyday Classics
Ink: Pure Poppy, Palette Noir Black
Ribbon: Pure Poppy satin

Peeking out to say hi!

Hello and happy almost Friday! I am excited about the long weekend! :-) Whoo hoo!

Here's a card I made for one of my monthly card kit swaps on SCS. I really have no idea about the image - I think the paper is Basic Grey, but I will try and look into it and post more details later. I did use some Copics to color the image and added some PTI Raspberry Fizz card stock and some polka dotted ribbon from Taylored Expressions. Pretty cute!I will be back tomorrow with my belated Raspberry Suite color challenge/Fall to Layout #41 card. :-)

Check it out!

Last month, I made some tea bag holders and table tents for my sorority's alumnae mother-daughter tea and I entered the project in the PTI May Guest Star Stamper contest and I got an honorable mention! Here's the link where you can see all the fab projects that were recognized!

Memories Mini Album

Happy Wednesday! Only 4 more days of classes before we start exams at work and let me tell you - the kids are done and so am I! haha I am actually transferring schools next year, so there is a lot to do with packing my stuff and closing out the year. My commute will go from about 40 minutes to about 3! :-)

Anyway, on to my project. For Mother's Day I collected quotes from my husband and his sisters to create a gift for my mother-in-law. I decided to make a mini album and boy oh boy did this take a LOT longer than I thought! :-)

I did print the quotes onto white card stock and used some cut pieces of chipboard to create the album. All the paper is from that gorgeous K&Company Madeline paper pad and the ribbons are all things I have had for ages from the craft store. The flowers, etc. are from a pack of embellishments designed to coordinate with the Madeline papers. Here are a few pictures - one of the cover and a few pages. I really need to get better at sponging to make things look vintage - but other than that I really love how this turned out!

Hope you all have a great night! The holiday weekend is just around the corner! :-)
