PTI January Blog Hop

Well, here we go! I am going to participate in my first PTI Blog Hop today! How about that?! This month's challenge was to create your best birthday card. Here's what I came up with ...I started by stamping the Guide Lines grid in Dark Chocolate on the Vintage Cream CS and then used Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Fizz inks to create the pattern. The bottom is a strip of Dark Chocolate CS layered with a strip of Raspberry Fizz CS that was punched with a slit punch and hole puncher. I added some Raspberry Fizz twill and a sentiment from the Faux Ribbon set to finish it off.

Hope you like what I came up with - I really love this color combination and will definitely be using it again in the future! :-) Hope you all have a great evening blog hopping!

Valentine's Accordion Tags

So, I really love all these accordion tags that I have seen on several blogs. They are just too cute. I made one for Christmas and I think I never got around to taking pictures and getting it posted. Well, yesterday I went to work on a Valentine's day theme. I LOVE it! My husband was like "oh dear Lord" when he saw it. I guess, I love it more than him! Or maybe it was just that I interrupted the FSU game! haha Here's a close up shot of my handiwork. I really love the color scheme I have going on here - Ocean Tides, Lavender Moon, White & Raspberry Fizz. I stamped the backgrounds with PTI's Heart Prints stamps and then added some Bazzill Just the Edge strips for the ric rac along the bottom. The ribbon is all PTI except the polka dots are from Taylored Expressions. The chipboard letters are leftover from the DCWV Christmas chipboard set that I picked on sale at Joanns back in December.
I really love it. My husband wants to know if I can sell them and what I can get for them. Just like a man.

Have a great day everyone! Come back later tonight - I am going to try out the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop this month!

Valentine's Day Cards & My New Etsy Shop!

Saturdays with no plans are simply marvelous ... don't ya think?! :-) I love it.

This afternoon, my mom came over and we played around in my craft room stamping. I came up with some little v-day card sets that are just too cute (I am biased, I guess). :-) If you like and want 'em, you can get them in my new Etsy store! I have also put up some koozies in the store, too. Fill one with candy for a sweet gift!

Anyway, I also made this slammin' little accordion tag for Valentine's day ... I will post that in a separate post tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

All supplies are by Papertrey Ink (except Polka Dot Ribbon - Taylored Expressions).

RAK from THE Verve Girl!

A few days after Christmas I got a beautiful card from the Verve Girl herself - Julee Tilman! Check out the card and how she made it here. She also has a shop with beautiful stamp sets - check it out!

Kristina's Color Inspiration # 38

Here's another Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge entry. I am posting late because (a) Internet Explorer wouldn't let me upload photos to blogger so I had to download Mozilla and (b) I realized while I was trying to post that I used the wrong color pink and red! Oh geez.

Anyway, I made the background by stamping PTI's Polka Dot Basics on the pink. I then used a Sakura glitter pen to add a little sparkle to each dot. The flowers were stamped, cut out, outlined with the glitter pen and popped up on foam dots. I used some Basic Grey buttons to add a little something.

You can see the glitter better in the close up folder. I really like how this turned out. I just hate I used the wrong shades of pink & red! Oh well. It is still really cute to me!

If you have the day off like me, enjoy it! :-)

Enjoy :-)

Here's the supplies that I used:

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Not Quite Navy, Copics
Paper: PTI White, SU! Pretty in Pink, Teal CS & dotted background paper from the craft store.

Kristina's Color Inspiration #37

Happy Saturday! I made it through the first week back to work after the holiday break. It was a really busy week, so it went by pretty quickly. Today we are headed to our friends' house to celebrate their son's 3rd birthday. I decided to use Kristina's color inspiration challenge for this week as the jumping off point. Here's her color scheme for the challenge ...And here's my interpretation. What do you think?

I created the striped paper with Papertrey's Faux Ribbon set and the polka dot paper with the Polka Dot Basics set. The zig zag strip is from Bazzill paper's Just the Edge cardstock strips. And the Happy Birthday image is from SU! Alphabet Soup. I like that it is kind of funky but still really simple. Well ... off to the par-tay!

M is for Monday

Here's a closer view of the little tote and composition book cover set that I made for our niece for Christmas. She was so cute when she opened the box and found her journal and bag! I hope she enjoys using both of them! :-)
The tote was really easy - awhile back I printed some letters in Comic Sans super huge on paper and then I just trace them for a template when I need to make an initial tote. I use premade totes for these - however, for my larger totes I usually make the bag, straps and lining.
Its back to the real world today ... hope everyone's new year at work gets off to a great start!

Here's a little monogram set I made for a friend of mine for Christmas. I really love the Justrite stamper monogram set - it makes it so easy to create special and personalized gifts! :-) My old roomie, Emily, really loves purple, so I used that for my theme. All the paper and card stock is by Papertrey. I think it turned out really cute and she seemed to like the notepad folio and matching card set, so it all worked out great! :-)

Supplies Used: Justrite Monogram Stamper; Ink, Ribbon, patterned paper, clear card box and cardstock all by Papertrey Ink; SU! Scallop and circle punches.

Comp Book Covers

Well, I have done quite a bit of sewing lately that has not involved letter shirts! :-) This is a good thing for my creativity! :-) These are some of the composition book covers that I whipped up recently for Christmas gifts (and orders). They are super quick and easy to make and I love that you can just pop in a new comp book when you fill one up! :-)
I have also been working on some cards and other things that I will share later this coming week - as well as the 3 quilts I knocked out in about 10 days for Christmas. Whew! :-)
Have a great Saturday y'all!

Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #36

Happy New Year everyone! I finally got to play Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge ... I have been too busy in previous weeks to sit down and make something while also meeting the deadline! :-) Here's the photo for inspiration.

Now, here's the version that I came up with. I had some fabric that was kind of similar to the one in the photo and I decided to use it like an applique in one of my sewing projects. I wanted a white border around it, so I did sew it on some white cardstock and then cut it out again before adhering it to the paper.

The color is a little off in this photo - the pink paper is a little paler in real life than it looks. This card is pretty simple, but I like how it turned out. What do you think?!

Supplies: Cardstock - SU! & PTI; Border strip - Bazzill Just the Edge; Ribbon - PTI; Image & Ink - PTI.
