Whoooo Hoooo!

Whooo Hoooo! My sweet husband took my (new, 5 month old) computer in to the Geek Squad on Saturday b/c it wouldn't power up and to my surprise brought it home all fixed up tonight! PTL!! I am addicted to the Internet/email, so I am more than happy to have it back.
I haven't had much time to stamp since the last two weekends have been pretty packed and I have had several orders I am working on. Tonight, I have already sewn letters down on 15 shirts! OMG! A few more to go and then I can hit the hay and feel like I can finish the other 25 for this order before I head off to Atlanta for DECA on Friday. Here's a card I made several weeks ago with my owl stamp set from Hero Arts. I was trying out a layout from Mish's blog ... it turned out okay ... pretty cute despite not being exactly how I imagined it would turn out.

Hope everyone's week is off to a great start! :-)

TGIF ... Almost!

Hello again. So, I wish it was Friday. I think my students wish the week was over too ... during "good things" in class just about none of them had anything to throw out there ... I had to remind them that "tomorrow is Friday!" was definitely a good thing for today. I guess we're ALL ready for the summer to get here! haha

So, I should have been doing A LOT of things when I got home from school today, but I have been feeling pretty restless (or lazy) ... basically not wanting to do what should be priorities (i.e. clean the house, go to the grocery store, laundry, etc.) ... and after seeing Mish's post today with the oh-so-cute stationery it was all over! Stamping would be first when I got home. Here's what I came up with. What do you think?
I can't wait to make more of them! I love Amy Butler's fabrics, so this paper pack I picked up at Michaels was the perfect fit. Well, I *have* to clean the house now ... Emily is staying over this weekend and right now the guest room is a disaster (aka cmh Designs storage room)! Later!

Changitos!

"Hi" :-) I got this monkey stamp (from the Changito line by Stampendous) a couple weeks ago. I actually ordered a different monkey, but this one came instead. He's also cute, so its ok. The sentiment was stamped using some clear stamps by Inkadinkado (that I got at Joann's for 40% off!) that I put on an acrylic block and dipped in SU! Basic Brown ink. I did color the leaves with my Copic markers and cut around the image before sticking it to the card. I like how the card is really simple in layout, but still cute.

This card is perfect for a Wednesday in what is seeming to be a long week ... I should have put something like 'Hang in there!" as the sentiment! haha Maybe next time ...

Back to cutting Greek letters ... Hope you are having a great week - only two days left before the weekend - PTL!

April 15, 2008

Happy Tuesday everybody! I wish it were Thursday because that would mean tomorrow is Friday. (But maybe not since I have to clean the house before our weekend guest gets here! :-)

Only 8 weeks left of school and 6.5 of classes before exams start - there is light at the end of the tunnel ... and hopefully sewing, and quilting and stamping ... etc. :-)

I made this "cute" card to go along with the Jungle quilt. I used a glitter pen over the green to add a little something. But it was still for a boy baby so I didn't want to go nuts. This stamp is from Stampin Up!'s Big on Spring set and it also has a Bride to Be and a Love stamp. I made a card with the Bride one that I will post another day. I think it turned out pretty good, too.

Well, I better get back to sewing some letter shirts! We are headed to Macaroni Grill for dinner later since one of Jeff's coworkers is moving to DC soon. I haven't been to the Macaroni Grill in awhile and can't wait to fight over that awesome bread! :-) haha

Its a Jungle Out There!

I made this quilt a couple of months ago (and finally finished it last week!) for our friend's new baby, Camden. This was a fun little pattern that I saw in the Whistle Stop Quilt Shop in Selma that was pretty quick. It was a bit challenging to settle on a set of fabrics - I naturally gravitate to pink and green fabrics (not so boy quilt friendly). But I like the jungle prints.

If I could only finish my tshirt orders and get back to quilting ... the fun part of sewing! :-)

I hope to update this site w/ links etc. this week and a few more cards and wallhangings I have made recently. But it is a jungle out there sometimes so we'll see if I can sneak in some time to play around on the Internet.

Have a great week everyone!

Too Dern Busy

Things have just been too dern busy to get really crafty this week. Which sucks! I have lots of new fabrics, stamps, and papers I want to play around with! But at least its the weekend! Woohoo.... hopefully I will get to relax a little.

Here's a few birthday cards I made for a couple of friends whose birthdays were this week. I love the scallop punch! Cute! They are the same layout with different papers. Love the fun colors. I hope the receivers do to!

Off to spend some time with my hubby - I kicked him out earlier while I hosted a shower for a recently married friend! Happy Saturday!

Circles & Dots

It is so nasty outside ... cold and rainy, but we need the rain so I feel bad griping about it. I did get to run to the triple B and three craft stores with my BFF and enjoy an overpriced salad at Sweet Tomatos this evening.

I made these cards the other day. I really like this color scheme and the fun stamp I used in the background. I love circles and dots! :-)

I didn't take a picture of my new wallhanging - not enough good light coming through the windows - maybe tomorrow ... I DID rearrange my sewing room closet ... I have some more cleaning to do but its starting to look better. But its like I tell Jeff, "creativity is not a clean process"!

Sweet Stampin'

Woo hoo! I finally got some stampin' done with the papers that I bought on sale at Joann's a few weeks ago. I am really digging this color scheme and can't wait to send them out to some friends.
Hopefully, I will get to post my new "Spring Fever" wallhanging tomorrow ... its so purty! I think I will have to make another one for my mom - we decided today that it would look really great in her office.
Off to bed! Hope you are having a great week! :-)

The Big Bad World of Blogging

So, I have decided to enter the big, bad world of blogging. I know a few friends that blog and have been visiting quite a few crafty bloggers' sites frequently and thought I would jump on the bandwagon. (Not that starting a blog would make me even more crafty or produce more beautiful things like those crafty bloggers' pages that I visit. But anyway.)

Hopefully, my blog will someday inspire someone else into craftiness like those that I have been visiting lately.

I have to run and whip up some dinner for the mister, but will try to post my lastest craftiness later on this evening. :-)
