What's Up!?

Here's a new card I made this afternoon. I used the paper as the starting point for the color scheme. Fortunately, these prima flowers match a lot of papers that I have. (Maybe because I keep buying paper and fabrics that are pink & green!) Isn't she cute? I am going to make some more of them this week. The coloring was the most time-consuming part - otherwise the layout is really easy.

I also finished a quilt today. It is a surprise for a friend. I am handing it over to the girls who are giving it to her tomorrow ... so once I know she's gotten it, I will post it here. It is one of my favorite quilts I have made ... ever! I really almost hate to give it away!

Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Cupcake Challenge # 22

Friday = Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. You don't have to use a cupcake image, so I went with my Causabella stamp. She is almost too big for this layout ... I will try it again later this weekend with a smaller stamp and maybe without the cardstock strip under the ribbon at the bottom. I tell you what ... Papertrey CS and ribbon is fabulous and it goes really well with this Crate paper.
In case you didn't know, the teal ribbon is for ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer awareness is the national philantrophy for my sorority, so I made this card in honor of that. I added a "hope" sentiment that I wrote out with a marker. And .... drumroll please ... this is my first addition of bling to a CARD! TA DA! Lovin' it! Her shoes are also glittery and the bottom of the awning is popped up on foam tape. (All that is kinda hard to see since I can't get my camera to cooperate!)
Back to the sewing machine! :-)

More Spring Sprigs

Happy Thursday everybody! :-) Here's another card I made with that Stampendous Spring Sprigs stamp ... love it! Taylor actually has a kit with this stamp set. At first, I wasn't sure how this was going to come out, but I actually really like it now. :-)

I am still cranking out some orders ... geez. I think I have 6 to go to the PO tomorrow. And I am going to start on another big one later tonight - I will post pictures of it next week. :-)
Tomorrow, I have a lunch date with my friend, Hayden. But first, I have to head into school to look over some resumes for a couple of positions we are hiring for in my department. I sure hope we can pick the right people for the job! :-)
I also just got added to the RAK group on SCS, so I am going to prepare my first RAKs to be mailed out! Yay for happy mail!
Back to crafting/sewing/laundry, etc.!

Flowahbella & a Flower Quilt

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! These Bella stamps are too dern cute! OMG! I made this little thing for a Bella Swap on SCS. I wish I had more of that flower paper, but I can't remember where I got it from. Oh well. I had fun coloring her with my Copic markers. I also really enjoy reading about how great Copics are on the Copic blog.

Anyway ... I have been sewing up a storm today. I have 4 more orders ready to ship tomorrow and am in the middle of several more that I should be able to finish and ship tomorrow as well. I love moving my order forms from the "In Progress" to the "Completed" section of my notebook. I still have like 27 orders to go ... gasp! At least I am not "working" :-)

Several people have commissioned baby quilts, which I am really excited about. Although, one is for a little girl whose parents aren't into pinking her out! I am going to have to work hard to make a girl's quilt with no pink or purple! My fabric collection is like 50% pink! haha

Speaking of quilts, I don't think I have had the chance to post the Flower quilt that my mom and I made for the philantrophy raffle at convention. Well ... here it is!

It is pretty neat, because it is made of all the "omega holes" from the letter shirts I've made for people. My mom pieced the quilt and I did the free motion quilting and the binding. I know the winner was super excited - I think she put like 20 or 30 tickets in for that thing! :-)

Here's a closer look at the flowers. I think if you click on the pictures you can see the full size image and check them out in more detail. Unfortunately, these photos are a little dark, but you get the general idea!

The quilt's name is "Blooming for a Cure 2008" ... we plan to make another one for next year's convention. Lord knows I still have a million omega holes. I am thinking black & white prints and pink next time!

Happy Tuesday y'all!

Hello!

I love this little Changito Solo stamp from Stampendous. He's just freakin' cute. I made this card for a Changito swap. I decided to go with the "hello" sentiment so that you could use them whenever. I will definitely be making more of these little monkeys!
I hope you all have had a great weekend. I had a sweet time beading with a few friends yesterday ... I will have to post a picture of my new necklace later on. And it was super fun to look at all of the beads my friend Amanda Jean picked up while she was in Tanzania with the Peace Corps. I also got to see a few movies this weekend and catch up on some letter shirt orders. I think I have 9 or 10 packages to mail out tomorrow! Whew! I will be sewing up a storm this week trying to finish them before the end of the month (my personal goal).
Have a great night peeps! :-)

Hello Friend!

Hello Friend! I made this card for the Let's Polka Swap over at Splitcoaststampers.com. I wasn't totally sure about it at first, but its really grown on me. I used a polka dotted ribbon, made some polka dotted patterned paper and used some dotted paper for the flower petals. The petals are actually popped up on foam tape (my new fav way to stick stuff on cards) - its a little hard to see in this photo.
I finally finished my mentoring workshop today so I am really "done" for the year. Hooray! The training was good, but I just wasn't excited to sit in the same chair for 3 long days. All the stuff is designed to help new teachers get up to speed and become great as quickly as possible. But it still amazes me all the things we ask the already drowning beginning teachers to do in addition to just making it everyday. Hopefully, I will be a great support person for someone!
Off to craft! :-)

Thinking of You!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and got to spend some time with their Pops! We got to have breakfast with my mom and dad and it was nice to get together and eat some awesome breakfast at one of our favorite spots.

This is a card I made for the Clean & Simple Swap at Splitcoaststampers.com. I really like how it turned out and made a couple extra to throw in my stash-o-cards. I imagine I will make some more in different color schemes - it was super quick and easy to put together. I like the kraft & chocolate chip with an accent color. (Like the previous post with the kraft, choco & pomegranate.) I also kind of like how the polka dots are a little wonky! :-)

Anyway ... summer is here, but I have a 3 day training that starts tomorrow so I do have to get to bed at a sort of reasonable time tonight. I will post a few other new cards, etc. tomorrow!

Heartfelt Thanks!

I made this card with the Papertrey Ink's Butterfly Kisses stamp set. Its a pretty fun stamp set that I am looking forward to horsing around with. I have been thinking of this color combination for awhile (chocolate chip, purely pomegranate, & kraft) and finally got a chance to play with it.

I will post some more cards tomorrow! Hope you are all having a great weekend :-)

Birthday Wishes!

Well, I made it through convention and school - one more day tomorrow (teacher workday) and I am "free" for the summer. Tonight we went to our nephew's high school graduation dinner. It was fun and of course Japanese steakhouse food was great! We also celebrated our neice's birthday - I made her a birthday card and a set of notecards. Super fun and quick. Even better I loved how she went around to show everyone her notecards! She heads off to 9th grade next year so she's not yet "too cool"! :-)

Here's the note cards I made her ...
