It's blog hop time at Papertrey. Every 25th of the month, they have a blog hop and this month's theme was to showcase the color YELLOW! Ok, so I knew I wanted to use some grey with the yellow. I thought about adding navy, and then I looked at my Martha Stewart magazine cover for May 09, which has a yellow background with a orangey-berry colored chair on the front with this chevron style pattern on it. Here's the cover...
And here's my card inspired by the cover (with grey added) ...
I made the chevron pattern by cutting strips of Berry Sorbet and then stamping a few straight lines from Faux Ribbon with matching ink. Then I stuck them down on a scrap piece of card stock to create one piece to work with. I used a few bits of textured Bazzill card stock for the accent on the side and for the flower, which I balled up to make it crinkly. Here's a closer shot, which shows the details a little better, including the stamping on the tag.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Hope you enjoyed my card and your holiday weekend!
