How Sweet!

Here's my version of another Cupcake Challenge from Taylor's blog. I used the MFT How Sweet It Is stamp set for this one. I stamped the girl w/ SU! Basic Black and then colored her in with Copics. I had the Crate paper in mind when coloring (the back of the DP is actually that green). I punched the sentiment and colored the edge with a Copic marker to give it a little something. The flower is actually a Stampendous stamped image that I cut out since my scallop punch was a bit too big. Overall, I like how this came out and am ready to make a few more since I (once again) used Mish's tips on mass producing and colored 3 of these images at the same time! Now the question is ... can I stay up late enough to put them together?! haha
Recipe:
Stamps: MFT How Sweet It Is; Stampendous May Flowers
Ink: SU! Basic Black; Copic Markers
Ribbon: Satin Sensations
Paper: SU! Groovy Guava cardstock, Crate DP, GP white cardstock, brown leftover from some wedding invitation project!

Punch it!

Hooray! I made it through the "regular" school days! We started exams today so its all downhill from here. PTL! It will be pretty busy in the next week or so ... my hubby's birthday, finishing a quilt for the philanthropy raffle, finalizing convention prep & convention, a wedding reception down east, and probably more! Whew! At least most of that is fun stuff! :-)I made this set of cards for the "Punch It" swap on SCS. They are simple, but cute. I hope my fellow swappers think so ... I used the SU! Scallop punch, 1-3/8 circle punch, and slit punch to make the flower and grass. I hand cut the stems. The paper is all SU! cardstock (River Rock, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate, & Wild Wasabi) and the ribbon is Certainly Celery.

Looking forward to tomorrow - Friday! :-) (And another cupcake challenge!)

Color Challenge!

Here's a card I made for a Color Challenge Swap on Splitcoaststampers.com. The challenge was to use SU! colors Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, River Rock, and Basic Black and those colors only! I happened to have the right color card stock and said "why not?!" It was a bit of a challenge thinking of something to do. I cased a few blogs for ideas and ended up with a simple layout that I am actually quite pleased with! I did cut out each petal and then placed them. I punched the center with a 3/4" punch and then hand cut the soft sky border circle. Thanks to Mish Mash's mass producing tips, they all came together pretty quick and I totally intend to make a few for myself later this week! All supplies are SU! Stamp sets included "Pick a Petal" and "Wonderful Words." I hope my fellow swappers like what I came up with!
Only 2 more days of regular classes and then exams start! Whoo hoo! I can do it!

Another Cupcake Challenge!

Every Friday there is a new challenge from Taylor called the Cupcake Challenge. You don't have to use a cupcake stamp to play along so this week I chose to use a flower stamp. Here's what I came up with.
This is actually my second try - I just didn't like how the other one was turning out with the patterned papers I was messing with yesterday. I think its because I really didn't know what color ink to use. So, I got out my SEI Black Orchid paper pad and started over today. I used Stampendous' May Flowers stamp set to make the orange section and the "buttons" on the side. I colored some of the flowers with a light pink Copic marker to give it some interest. The sentiment is from Studio G - one of those little $1 sets from AC Moore.
Recipe: SU! Basic Black ink, Copic markers, Stampendous May Flowers Stamps, & Studio G sentiment, all paper from SEI Black Orchid stack.

Stampendous Nestabilities!

I finally got some nestabilities and I was so excited to use them. Here's my first creation using them. :-) I have to run - off to the movies with the mister. I will post the details and some other things later this evening! Hope you are all enjoying the start of the holiday weekend! :-)

Edited - here's the scoop on the card. I used SU! Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi card bases and stamped them in their respective colors with the Dandie Cluster stamp from Stampendous. Then I cut scalloped squares from my DCWV mat stack. The main image is the Spring Sprigs stamp from Stampendous colored with Copics to match the papers and added ribbon from American Crafts. There you have it! :-) Love the nesties! Love them!

Big on Spring!

Since I was in a sorority in college, I know a lot of girls who are about the tie the knot! I love this SU! Big on Spring set. Its just dern cute and you can color it to match whatever you want. I also love pink and green (in paper and fabric!) so I worked this little number up the other day. I stamped the image w/ black ink and then colored w/ Copics. I mounted the paper (cardstock and stripe from Spring mat stacks from Michaels) and then added some magenta ribbon from American Crafts. I like how its cute and fun without being overly complicated.
I hope yall had a great Monday ... this was the last Monday of regular classes - PTL! Whew! My students are ready to graduate (translated to they don't want to do ANYTHING in class)! I hope to have time to play around with some sketches today or tomorrow and have something new for you! Have a great evening! :-)

Cupcake Challenge!

This is a card I made for Taylored Expression's cupcake challenge 16. It turned out pretty cute and was quick and simple to put together.

I used Lizzie Anne's Simply Singles Cupcake stamp for the image and then colored it with my Copics. I mounted the cupcake in a chipboard frame from Making Memories inked with SU! Pixie Pink. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Sultry paper pad. The green card stock is from some cardstock assortment from Michaels or AC Moore. I forgot to glitter the sprinkles before I took the picture, but I think it still looks alright. Have a great weekend everyone!

TGIF Friends!

Whew - Friday! Yay! Only one more full week before the week exams start. I can hardly wait until "school's out for summer!" haha :-) But it's out for the weekend and I am going to craft all weekend! Here's a few cards I made earlier this week as part of my mom's birthday gift. These are littles - 3.5 x 5" cards - basically because the size of the background paper worked out better for that size. I like the bright spring colors. And she thought they were cute (but I am her kid so of course she thinks so)!

Mass Producin' - Thanks & Bday

Hey again... its almost TGIF time! Whoo hooo! I made some really cute "thank you" and "happy birthday" cards tonight. I am really digging the paper that I used for this - its from SEI's Black Orchid 8x8" paper pad. I am going to use it all up in no time!
I used Mish's tips for mass producin' and so these cards came together pretty dern quick - thanks, Mish! :-)
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Stampendous Mini's
Paper: Black Orchid by SEI, GP white cardstock
Ribbon: Michaels
Ink: SU! Basic Black

Also - here's that wallhanging I made awhile back - I'll just call it Spring Fever, since I made it over Spring Break. I just gave it to my mom for her birthday on Tuesday. I will have to make another one for my "office"! (Speaking of offices - its the finale tonight - can't wait to watch The Office!)

Birthday Flowers for Mom!

Happy Birthday mom! :-) This is the card I made for my mom. The image was sent along with an order from eclecticpaperie.com, but I think it is by Stampendous. I really want to find out what it is so that I can order it. I colored it with my Copic markers and used a peice of paper from EK Success that is double-sided. I used the back for the border around the image and sentiment. The sentiment is from the SU! Birthday Whimsy set.
I found a few new blogs yesterday that I am going to start stalking - just kidding. But they have some really cute ideas and card layouts. I love checking out what other people are whipping up. I will post their links later this week.

Happy Monday Yall

Only 11 more regular class days until exams ... I can do it! haha Tomorrow is my mom's birthday and I just made a card that I am really excited about how it turned out ... I will post it tomorrow after she gets to see it. I made a set of these cards (below) for my MIL for mother's day.
I used my SU! flower punch and circle punch as well as the Seeing Spots stamp set. I cut the little flower out and stuck it on with a brad. The paper is something I picked up at Michaels. I think they turned out pretty cute. :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

My mom is the best! :-) She's not only my mom, but she's my friend ... that's why I made this card for her. She loved it! We took her to lunch today and then played a game of scrabble - once again, I got beat by both my mom and my husband. Oh well. :-)
This past week was pretty busy and the next few will be too as I wrap up school, convention plans, and orders. I can hardly wait for the summer! I am so going to sew and stamp it up! :-) Speaking of which, I better get back to sewing. Hope you got a chance to see your moms today! Have a great week!

Hey Friend!

Is it Friday yet? I am living for the weekends ... at least until summer gets here! ;-) I have a ton of craft ideas swirling around in my head and I can't wait to be able to spend more time messing around with trying to make those ideas come to life! Anyway ... I did get to make a bunch of simple cards tonight with my Stampendous stamps - most of them are in the gallery on my main site. But here's one of them ...
I copied the same idea but didn't do any stamping ... I thought it was pretty enough with just a ribbon and super quick to make - even better!
Better get some sewing in before I hit the sack. Hope your week is off to a great start! :-)

16 days and counting ...

Whoo Hooo! Only 16 more class days before exams ... I cannot wait for summer. I have loved teaching my kids, but its kind of like a vacation that has just gone on too long at this point ... you just want it to be over! haha

Atlanta was fun - although downtown can be a little sketchy in some parts. But we had a nice trip. I was glad to get back and stamp some and sew some and just chill with Jeff.
I got this great Cupcake stamp from Eclectic Paperie by Lizzie Ann Designs. It is SOOOO cute. I think I am going to be using this stamp A LOT! I also have some "hey cupcake!" cards for sale in my store's gallery - check 'em out.
Have a great week! :-)
